JMP is in search of a seasoned Account Executive to oversee a sales territory spanning Southern California. We are looking for an individual who embodies motivation, possesses a high emotional intelligence (EQ), and exhibits a relentless intellectual curiosity. Given that our clientele comprises scientists and engineers, comfort in technical dialogues is imperative. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate, operating within a dedicated three-person team within a well-equipped sales and marketing framework. At JMP, we develop interactive software tailored for statistical discovery on desktops, a tool integral to the daily operations of our remarkable customers as they embark on groundbreaking scientific and engineering endeavors.
Job Role and Responsibility
- Spread the use and impact of JMP products within existing and target accounts
- Utilize strategic selling techniques with a Systems Engineer and an Inside Sales Representative to develop sales goals and plans for territory, prospects and targeted accounts
- Prepare custom presentations based on your opportunity analyses
- Develop and execute customer retention and post-sale strategies to ensure account satisfaction and growth
- Customize, present, and evaluate broader sales seminars and outreach
- Work effectively as part of a team for complex sales involving multiple skill sets
- Collaborate with peers and assist with training of staff
- Contribute to the fantastic (and famous) culture and work atmosphere of JMP
Skills Required that will help succeed
- 5-10 years of successful experience in software sales, including experience demonstrating technical solutions
- Experience in account development and relationship development inside complex organizations
- Experience developing and growing a new sales territory with a proven track record of success
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team comprised of a Systems Engineer and Inside Sales Representative
- Ability to present on-site at customers’ locations several times per week
- Knowledge of JMP products and services
- Know industry or market segments or have in-depth expertise in at least one industry or business area
- Be an effective project leader and time manager, meeting your timeline and goals
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, or other relevant discipline
- Knowledge of statistics and/or engineering
- Be curious and a problem-solver
- Relate technical concepts to our applications and our user’s needs
