Job Role and Responsibility
- Project/task management and support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment.
- Development of project/task scopes, schedules, and budget for new projects.
- Support South Region Resilience Water with business development.
- Interactive coordination with our Control Systems and Process Mechanical groups.
- Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications.
- Performing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs (request for information).
- Conducting field inspections, overseeing projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, performing general QA/QC of completed work, and monitoring safety compliance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to electrical group in electrical safety and national electrical safety code.
- Performing system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software. At a minimum, provide engineering responsibility for staff using these software packages to publish a power systems study with arc flash hazard analysis.
- Some travel up to 25% will be required to support project needs.
Skills Required that will help succeed
- 15 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an emphasis on power.
- Professional Engineering PE License.
- NFPA 70E Training.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
- Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Performance-driven and ability to work productively, both independently and as a contributing member of a multi-discipline design team.
- Solid working knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Field Instrumentation, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) as they relate to electrical design.
- Experience using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software.
