We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Area Sales Professional to spearhead the expansion of our Meter Data Management (MDM) domain. The EnergyIP® MDM Area Sales Professional functions as the visionary for their designated portfolio zones: MDM stationed on-site and the innovative Software as a Service (SaaS).

They harness a profound understanding of both the local market nuances and the product intricacies to cultivate and propel sales endeavors across diverse avenues. Engaging in tailored initiatives, they actively foster relationships directly with clients, collaborate with resellers, and synergize efforts within our organizational fabric (e.g., liaising with account managers and our internal Siemens channels).

Job Role and Responsibility

  • Develop and drive the execution of sales strategies, account plans, campaigns, and product-specific regional growth initiatives as part of your prospecting efforts.
  • Proactively steer and support local sales partners and channels. You constantly strive to increase partner sales and onboard new partners.
  • Maintain pipeline, sales KPIs, and CRM hygiene ensuring forecast accuracy.
  • Foster transparency and take ownership of the pipeline and forecast for the region—across all channels.
  • Support and catalyze the local launch and roll-out of new offerings while partnering internally with global sales and product management teams to ensure that local activities fit into our global initiatives.
  • Lead customer presentations, create value-based proposals, and close deals successfully.

Required Qualifications and Skills will help succeed

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) selling software, ideally to utility customers, including knowledge and understanding of the Utility budget, decision-making, and procurement process.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 40% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain deep relationships with customers in the Eastern region of the US–including C-level–as well as the various sales and solutions channels.
  • Good communication skills to articulate and spread the key value proposition and knowledge of the MDM product across the region, enabling and inspiring others around them
  • Experience working in complex sales and matrixed organizations
  • Experience with software sales involving SaaS and Professional Services
  • Experience with MEDDICC and/or Challenger selling
